The Team
Rick Marazzani – General Manager
Rick has been professionally producing and designing hit mass-market games for more than ten years. He has worked for the greatest game companies (Maxis, Pogo, EA, Digital Chocolate) and learned from the best (Will Wright, Nick Rush, and Trip Hawkins).
Before founding iQ212, Rick helped ship SimCity 3000 at Maxis; created several games at Pogo.com; was a founding member of Digital Chocolate, and most recently was the Director of Casual Games at Hands-On Mobile.
All of Rick’s mass-market hits are built with budget, quality, schedule and PROFIT in mind. He has worked with the biggest brands and franchises in multimedia (SimCity, EA Sports, The Sims, Pebble Beach, Hasbro, Mattel, Monopoly) and has a stellar track record creating successful original IP.
His recent crusade has been leading the charge to make ALL mobile games fun, playable, user-friendly, “mass-market” and ultimately more profitable.
Rick grew up in Martinez, California and went to college at UC Santa Barbara. He lives in Martinez with his wife Nicki and their two daughters.
Hsiung Chen – Engineer
What do the Magnavox Odyssey, NeoGeo Gold, 3D0, and WonderSwan have in common? Chen has at least TWO of each! Chen is a talented software engineer with old school game roots. His career started as an applications engineer at Sybase and Oracle, and soon he merged his ability to code with his passion for video games. He added Mobile to his repertoire 5 years ago to become a triple threat in coding, games, and mobile. Prior to co-founding iQ212, Chen was the lead engineer for casual games at Hands On Mobile.
Chen’s experience leads iQ212’s rapid game iteration, cross-platform development, and clean portable code. He grew up in Northern California, and has dual EE and CS degrees from the University of California at Davis.
